简单点可以说

heavy / great Pressure

pressure /ˈpreʃ.ər/ 压力

heavy表示：大量不愉快的

great表示：程度上大量的

这两个词都可以用来形容抽象的事物

而big、small指的是实体物件的大小

形容具体的事物

像“压力”这种无形的东西没有办法给它量化

给某人施加压力用到的动词是put

意思是对某人施加很大的压力，促使其完成某事。

例：

pressure和stress的区别

Pressure is the force that is applied to something and stress is the reaction directly related to it. In other words, if a heavy object is on top of me, the pressure would cause my body to stress. However, if my boss is pressuring me to meet a deadline, the stress part is up to me, (that is where the internalization comes from). So in most cases when something is said to be stressed, it is most likely pressured as well, but that is already indicated by saying it is stressed.

Pressure是施加在某物上的力而stress是与之直接相关的反应。换句话说，如果一个重物在我身上，pressure会导致我的身体stress。然而，如果我的老板给我施压(pressure)要求我在最后期限前完成工作，stress部分是由我自己决定的，(这就是内化的来源)。所以在大多数情况下，当某件事被说成be stressed时，它很可能也是被pressured，但是这也已经通过stressed来表示了。
