前两天老婆问了我

特别有意思的一句英语

give是“给”，

shit是“屎”，

give sb the shits是什么意思？

难道是“把屎给某人？”

我也没搞懂是什么意思，

赶紧上网查了查，

才发现：

give sb the shits的意思是“激怒某人、大骂某人”！

例如：

The news of the Indian border troops crossed the China-India boundary and entered the Chinese territory has given the Chinese people the shits.

中国人民被印度边防部队越过中印边界进入中国领土的新闻激怒了。

也不是“在屎中”的意思

而是“遇到麻烦，处于困境”

例如：

Let's make a final decision quickly, or, we’ll be in the shit.

我们赶紧做出最终的决定，否则，我们会遇上大麻烦。

So any way you look at it, I'm in the shit.

不管你怎么看，我都有麻烦。

shit除了屎的意思

还有“表示气愤或恼怒”

所以千万别搞错了！！
