上面这一行呢，我们把它叫做形容词性物主代词。第二行叫做名词性物主代词。为什么这样说呢？其实我们把它取这样的名字是有充分的道理的。我想问大家：形容词是用来干嘛的？大应该都还记得形修名吧，形容词是来修饰名词的。而且经常放在名词前面。那么这一类形容词性物主代词呢，正好后面是需要修饰一个名词的。这一行的词都需要加上一个名词。而且他们加上名词之后呢，就正好等于它下面对应的那个名词性物主代词。我们来看：

It is mine.

所以 mine=my pen

They are their old desks.

They are theirs.

所以theirs=their old desks
