as soon as 引导的从句怎么用（本讲重点as...as）

讲了一些有关从句语块中连词运用的基础知识后，今天我们讨论几道相关真题。

第一步，找出有几个主谓结构。主语我们用(S)表示，谓语用(V)表示，再用1, 2, 3等编号辅以区别。第二步运用连词解题思路。

1.(2017 I) Like anything, it (S1) is (V1) possible to have too much of both, [70.__which___ (S2) is (V2) not good for the health]. 这是一个非限制性定语从句，从句需要一个主语，which指前面整个句子，意思是：吃得太多这件事对身体健康不好。

2.(2017 II) But Sarah (S1), [64.__who__ (S2) has taken part in (V2) shows along with top models], wants (V1) to prove that she has brains as well as beauty. 这个非限制性定语从句要注意定语从句插入在句子中间的情况。什么时候定语从句插入在句子中间呢？定语从句通常紧跟先行词：如果定语从句修饰主语当然插入在句子中间，如果定语从句修饰表语或宾语，肯定在句子后面。这个定语从句也需要一个主语，who指Sarah这个人。that也可做主语，但不能用于非限制性定语从句。

3.(2016 I) But my connection (S1) with pandas goes back to (V1) my days on a TV show in the mid-1980s, [65.__when___ I (S2) was (V2) the first Western TV reporter [permitted to film a special unit caring for pandas rescued from starvation in the wild]]. 这个非限制性定语从句中有主语，有谓语，先行词是the mid-1980s，表时间的when在从句中做时间状语。以上3题是定语从句，解题思路是“定从指先做成分”，“分析成分看从句”。

4.(2016 II) So get (V1) an early start and try (V2) to be as productive 65.__as__ possible before lunch. 这题考查比较状语从句。比较状语从句容易让人忽略，是它常常省略一些成分。get (V1) an early start and try (V2) to be as productive是祈使句，省略了主语you (S1)，有两个并列谓语 (V1) and (V2)。try to be (V2) productive与 (it (S2) is (V3) ) possible (to be productive）是成分对等的两个句子。人们通常把as...as possible当作一个固定结构看待， as...as possible = as...as you can。

5.(2016 III) <In much of Asia>, <especially the so-called "rice bowl" cultures of {China, Japan, Korea, 41.__and__ Vietnam}>, food (S1) is (V1) usually eaten with chopsticks. 这题只有一个主谓结构，是个简单句，但考查的是并列连词连接对等成分。 {China, Japan, Korea, __and__ Vietnam是并列名词词组做the so-called "rice bowl" cultures of 的介词宾语。

6.(2013 广东) “I can understand ｛why I shouldn't pay too much｝, Father, || but <if I (S2) can pay (V2) less>, 18.__why__ not save (V1) a bit of money?”撇下but前面的句子结构不分析，but引导的后半句有个if引导的条件状语从句，18题考查主句。主句是个特殊问句，我们要用到“特殊疑问代副词”这条思路。why not save = why (do) not (you (S1) ) save (V1) ，“why not 原形”通常也被当做一个固定结构看待。
