Slowly,slowly, slowly,

慢慢地，慢慢地，慢慢地，

a sloth crawled along a branch of tree.

一只树懒爬到树干上。

Slowly,slowly,slowly,

慢慢的，慢慢的，慢慢的，

the sloth ate a leaf.

这只树懒吃了一片树叶。

Slowly, slowly, slowly,

慢慢的，慢慢的，慢慢的，

the sloth fell asleep.

树懒沉沉的睡去。

Slowly,slowly, slowly,

慢慢的，慢慢的，慢慢的，

the sloth woke up.

它缓缓醒过来。

All day long the sloth hung upside down in the tree.

整个白天，它都倒挂在树上。

All night long the sloth hung upside down in the tree.

整个夜晚，它都倒挂在树上。

Even when it rained the sloth hung upside down in the tree.

即使是下雨天，它也依旧挂在树上。

" Why are you so slow? " the howler monkey asked one day.

一天，一只吼猴先问它：“你为什么这么慢吞吞呢？”

But the sloth didn't answer.

树懒没有回答。

" Why are you so quiet? " the caiman asked.

“你为什么如此安静？”一只鳄鱼问它。

But the sloth didn't answer.

树懒没有回答。

" Why are you so boring? " the anteater asked.

“你为什么如此令人厌倦？”一只食蚁兽问它。

But the sloth didn't answer.

但树懒依旧没有回答。

"Tell me, "said the jaguar, "why are you so lazy? "

告诉我树懒！你为什么这么懒？一只黑豹说。

The sloth thought and thought and thought for a long, long, long time.

树懒想啊想，想啊想，最后，过了很长很长时间。

Finally, the sloth replied，

树懒才慢慢回答：

"It is true that I am slow, quiet and boring.

的确，我很慢，很安静，很无聊。

I am lackadaisical, I dawdle and I dillydally.

我整天无精打采，游手好闲，磨磨蹭蹭。

I am also unflappable, languid, stoic,

impassive, sluggish, lethargic, placid,

calm, mellow, laid-back and, well, slothful!

我木讷，执拗，冷漠，动作迟缓，昏昏沉沉，

心态平和，懒散悠闲，这就是树懒！

I am relaxed and tranquil, and I like to live in peace.

但我每天感觉轻松愉悦，我享受这柔和而平静的时光。

But I am not lazy."

这并不是懒惰。

Then the sloth yawned and said,

树懒打了个哈欠又继续说，

"That's just how I am.

这就是我，

I like to do things

我就是喜欢

slowly,slowly,slowly."

慢慢的，慢慢的，慢慢的...
