定西红皮土豆特色（陇西故里定西州）

定西历史悠久，区位优势明显，这里是黄河上游文明的重要发祥地，有新石器时代著名的马家窑文化、齐家文化、寺洼文化和辛甸文化。定西的土壤气候极适合中药材和马铃薯生长。其中药材资源十分丰富，已查明的中药材有300多种，尤以当归、党参驰名中外。定西自古就是丝绸之路上的“重镇”，又是新欧亚大陆桥的必经之地，同时还是甘肃省会兰州市的东大门，距兰州市仅98千米。由于定西历史上就以党参等药材驰名天下，因此成为丝绸之路上重要的药材集散地，大批来自西域、欧洲的商人在这里采购药材，并且逐渐把中国传统的中医文化传播到欧洲。

Dingxi has a long history and location advantages. As an important birthplace of the Yellow River civilization, there is the famous Majiayao Culture, Qi Family Culture, Siwa Culture, and Xindian Culture in Neolithic Age. Dingxi's soil and climate are very suitable for the growth of Chinese herbal medicine and potatoes. So the Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM) resources are very rich here, 300 kinds of herbs have been identified, in which angelica and codonopsis are well-known at home and abroad.

Dingxi had always been the "key position" on the Silk Road: it was the only access to New Eurasian Continental Bridge, also the east gate of Lanzhou (provincial capital of Gansu), which is only 98 km away. As Dingxi was famous for codonopsis since ancient times, it became a collecting and distributing center for crude drugs on the Silk Road; a large number of Western traders purchased medicinal herbs here, they gradually spread traditional Chinese medicine to Europe.

定西市安定区是全国最适宜马铃薯种植的三大区域之一。区内海拔高、气温低、温差大，雨量相对充足期正好与马铃薯块茎膨大期相吻合，所产马铃薯薯块大、薯皮光滑、薯形整齐，干物质含量高、口感好，耐运输、耐贮藏，产量和质量在全国均处于一流水平。

Anding District of Dingxi City is one of three largest potato planting bases in China. The area features high altitudes,low temperatures, large day-night temperature differences,abundant rainfall, which coincides with the potato growing,so the potatoes here are large, smooth, uniformly-shaped, with high dry matter content, good tastes, resistance to transport andstorage; the output and quality top the list in China.

无论走到安定区的哪个乡镇哪个村庄，映入眼帘的都是大片大片郁郁葱葱的马铃薯，每个乡镇都有千亩以上的优质马铃薯示范基地；无论走到哪个马铃薯淀粉企业，车间内都是机器隆隆，车间外商贾往来，呈现出一片繁忙的景象；无论走进哪个办公场所，文件上、网页上、工作话题上，“马铃薯”一词频繁出现。

In no matter which town or village in Anding District, the first thing leaping to the eyes is vast planting areas of potato,each township has high quality potato demonstration bases which are thousands of acres; there are busy potato starch plants everywhere, there are potatoes everywhere.
