北京外国语大学成人英语学院（上海外国语大学英语学院）

上海外国语大学创建于1949年12月，是新中国成立后兴办的第一所高等外语学府，是新中国外语教育的发祥地之一，是教育部直属并与上海市共建、进入国家“211工程”和“双一流”建设的全国重点大学。目前，上外已充分形成以语言文学类学科见长，文学、教育学、经济学、管理学、法学等五大门类协调发展的学科格局，多元并举，特色鲜明。

上海外国语大学英语学院（College of English Language and Literature, Shanghai International Studies University）始建于1956年，所属“英语语言文学学科”是新中国创建最早的“英语语言文学学科”之一，也是目前全国仅有的少数几个国家级英语语言文学重点学科之一，同时也是上海市重点学科。50多年来，经过几代人的不懈努力，英语学院现拥有层次分明、专业方向门类齐全的教学科研体系，已成为国内规模最大、教学科研基础最为雄厚、师资力量最强的英语学院，在全国高校同类学院中名列前茅，在国内外声誉卓著，成为众多青年学生心驰神往和人生理想起飞的地方。

Shanghai International Studies University (SISU), founded in December 1949, is the first foreign language university of higher learning established after the founding of the People's Republic of China.
