英语长难句如何分析（详细解读英语长难句）

昨天学习了主要学习了 ①go用来表示参加某活动时的用法，举了例子go swimming和go to swim的区别。②without的用法。③as well表示“也”，与also，too等单词的区别。

昨天文章如下：

去游泳是go swimming，说成go to swim算错吗？

John went to see his bank manager who sent the remains of wallet and the money to the special department of the Bank of England in Newcastle: the Mutilate Ladies! They examined the remain and John got all his money back. 'So long as there's something to identify, we will give people their money back,' said a spokeswoman for the Bank. 'Last year, we paid $1.5m on 21,000 claims.

约翰去找银行经理，经理把约翰的钱包和纸币的残留物送到英国银行在纽卡斯尔的一个专门部门——残钞鉴别组。他们鉴定了这些残留物。约翰拿回了他损失的全部数额。“只要有东西可供识别，我们会把钱还给人家的，”银行的一位女发言人说。“去年，我们对21，000 起索赔要求支付了150万英镑。”

John went to see his bank manager who sent the remains of wallet and the money to the special department of the Bank of England in Newcastle: the Mutilate Ladies!

这个句子有点长，还是按之前讲的方法和学会断句。如果真的不知道怎么断句，就看动词，哪里有动词，在哪里断开。我们来试一下。

John / went to see his bank manager who / sent the remains of wallet and the money to the special department of the Bank of England in Newcastle: the Mutilate Ladies!

这时可以发现句子被拆分成两个部分。说明会有一个主句，一个分句。

再看句子前有无主语。

我们发现第一个分句went前是John，是主语，第二个分句前面是who，人称代词，指代的是前面的bank manager，使用的是定语从句的用法。

这下基本就清楚两个句子的逻辑关系了。

但是定语从句好像也有点长。我们再来看看它在讲什么。

… who sent (the remains of wallet and the money) to (the special department of the Bank of England in Newcastle: the Mutilate Ladies)!

这样划分后，可以看出一个词组的搭配，叫sent sth to …，sent是send的过去式和过去分词。这时句子的逻辑就更清晰了。

其中the remains of wallet and the money，是使用and连词，连接两个相同的并列成分。

the special department of the Bank of England in Newcastle: the Mutilate Ladies.

①使用了of来表示从属关系，A of B of c表示C的B的A。翻译时，要记得倒着翻译。

department of the Bank of England

所以这里翻译过来就是英格兰的银行的部门，放在句子中进行情景化翻译，就是英国银行的一个专门部门。

②后面的状语in Newcastle: the Mutilate Ladies.

则分别用来修饰这个特殊部门的属性，告诉了我们，这个部门在纽卡斯尔，以及它的名字是残钞鉴别组。

这样句子分析完毕。虽然过程有点长，但是希望能句给大家一个信号，就是懂得拆分句子，每个小句子都有它的逻辑性在里面，可以看得懂。不像我们中文，太复杂了。比如女朋友打电话给你说，我现在出门了，如果你先到了，你就等着吧。如果我到了你还没有到，你就等着吧。英语表达不出这么复杂的含义。所以中文特别强大，能学会中文的你，英文只能更好学才是。加油。

So long as there's something to identify, we will give people their money back.

so long as 和as long as多数情况下是可以相互替换的。但有两个情况下有别。

①强调时间很长的时候，一般用as long as

You take as long as you need. 需要多久都可以。

To stay kids for as long as possible. 尽量别长大。

②表示“既然、因为”时，一般使用as long as

As long as you are here, go on. 你既然来了，就干吧。
