英语同位语从句怎么写（英语写作长句子方法之一）

After gazing at the display for several minutes, Mr. Taylor went back into his shop.

珠宝店主泰勒先生正在欣赏新布置的橱窗。他手下两名店员从早上8点就开始忙碌，这时刚刚布置完毕。

Mr. Taylor, the owner of a jewellery shop was admiring a new display.

从句子含义里可以看出，the owner of a jewellery shop是用来补充说明Mr. Taylor的，这就是同位语的作用。我们在写作文的时候也可以用同位语，因为这个用法又简单又不容易出错。需要注意的一点就是，逗号左右所表示的成分要一致。在这个句子中，两者均可以做主语，删掉一个，不影响句子的成分完整性。

Mr. Smith, our new teacher, is very kind to us. 我们的新老师史密斯先生对我们很好。

在之前的章节有过同位语，当一个句子中出现两个逗号时，可以将两个逗号之间的内容去掉（加快阅读速度作用）。但在写作文时，可以用这种方式写点“废话”凑字数的。

在这个句子中，since引导着时间状语从句，表示“自从……开始”

但since还可以表示原因状语从句，比如：

I'm forever on a diet, since I put on weight easily. 我一直在节食，因为我的体重很容易增加。

引导原因状语从句的单词也有一些，比如：

as: 从属连词，语意较because,since弱，着重在主句，所表示的原因或理由是“附带的”。

because: 从属连词，语意强，着重直接的原因或理由，所引出的从句是全句的重心，用以回答why提出的问题。

for: 并列连词，语气较弱，所引出的句子一般放在后面，表示附带说明的理由或推断理由。

since: 语意比because弱，但比as强，一般用于表示“由于大家已知的事实”。
