confess（尤指对警察或牧师）坦白(错误或罪行)、忏悔（所做的错事），承认(自己感到羞愧或尴尬的事);忏悔(罪过);供认，坦白，承认；用法如下如：1. 后接that从句，注意从句的主语和主句的主语一般要一致：

He confessed that he had stolen the money.他承认他偷了那笔钱。
