眼看快到月底了，会计小刘又开始催着大家交报销的票据了。外教Tony不太会弄交得晚了，小刘张嘴就冲他来了一句: "you're slow！" 结果搞得Tony生了小刘好几天的气......
这种情况就是典型的文化差异了，在咱们中文里，说一句"你好慢哟~"无伤大雅，但老外听在耳朵里就变了味儿。原来"you're slow"在英文里不是"你太慢", 而是变成了"你好笨呐！"的意思。
那么应该如何优雅礼貌地催促他人呢？这时用一句"Would you please......at your earliest convenience?"（得便时请务请…从速）就可以啦！
所以说，大家学英语时别太死板了，要记住“slow”当用作形容词时，就是在说某人“不聪明、有点儿笨笨的；迟钝、反应有点儿慢半拍 ”
迟钝、迟缓，拖沓；缓慢；沉闷；迟钝的，愚笨的；（电影、书籍、戏剧等）情节拖沓的，索然无趣的
