I did some researching out of boredom and discovered that Dominique Wilkins once played against Vince Carter and Magic Johnson once played against Kevin Garnett

Scottie Pippen also played against Carmelo Anthony but I had already seen that fact on /r/NBA before. What are some other facts about the NBA in general that just seem really crazy?

That's not really a fact. It's one theory about the origin. You're version is also similar, but slightly different than other ones I have heard.

This is the only game in NBA history in which the winning team doubled up the losing team.

On Feb. 27, 1998, the Indiana Pacers defeated the Portland Trailblazers 124-59.

I found this to be a very insane fact about the NBA while listening a few days ago.

That’s crazy cause the leading scorer for the Blazers scored more than every one on the Pacers except one player and that one player only scored 4 more... The Pacers scoring was extremely balanced in that game.

Didn’t the game begin by trying to get the ball in literal baskets with no hole in the bottom so they’d have to get on a ladder and pull it out each time?

That’s fucking hilarious and part of me wishes it was still the case.

Also the reason to this day the rim is 10 feet high is because Naismith's gym b*河蟹*y was 10 feet high. Basically every element of the game has been altered from its original state except rim height.

I imagine getting the ball in the basket was a big ordeal. Sort of like how goals in soccer have a net to catch the ball.
