◆Not until半倒装

口诀解读：

将Not until及其后的状语或状语从句放于句首，主句要用疑问语序。如：

①He didn’t leave the room until the rain stopped. 雨停了之后他才离开这房间。

→Not until the rain stopped did he leave the room.

②We didn’t begin to have supper last night until Father came back.昨晚直到父亲回来,我们才开始吃晚饭。

→Not until Father came back did we begin to have supper last night.

◆Not only半倒装〈连接主语时例外〉

口诀解读：

将Not only及其后的连接部分放于句首，but also连接的部分要倒装（缺主谓时，要补充主谓）。如：

①He is not only a teacher but also a poet.他不仅是一位教师，而且是一位诗人。

→Not only is he a teacher， but he is also a poet.

②He spoke not only more correctly but also more easily. 不仅他讲得更正确，也讲得更不费劲了。

→Not only did he speak more correctly, but he spoke more easily.

◆Only状语/ 状语从句半倒装

口诀解读：

状语或状语从句受副词only的修饰时，将其置于句首，主句用疑问语序。如：

①He realized that he was wrong only then. 到那时他才意识到他错了。

→Only then did he realize that he was wrong.

②He realized what had happened when he returned home. 当他回到家里时,才知道出了什么事。

→Only when he returned home did he realize what had happened.

③You can learn English well only in this way.只有用这种方法你才能把英语学好。

→Only in this way can you learn English well.

④He came to the meeting only after being asked three times. 询问了三次他才到会。

Only after being asked three times did he come to the meeting.

如果句子为主从复合句，则主句倒装，从句不倒装。

⑤He stays in bed only when he is seriously ill. 只有在病重的时候，他才待在床上。

→Only when he is seriously ill, does he stay in bed.
