面孔与姿态

面孔是时代的表征，既与个体生命的人生轨迹密切相关，更与作为身份及文化群体的意义交织在一起。身份问题是当代艺术中的一个重要主题，在全球化与地域性对峙的语境中，艺术家对单一的本质化的身份规训提出质疑并予以抗争。然而我们也有必要在反转的视角中重新思考身份这一问题：究竟是谁限制了文化身份的自由发展并制约着个人身份的多样化？是源自西方中心主义的偏见，还是地域性文化自身的未开化？这个问题的东方版其实就是：谁缚汝？

FACES AND POSTURES

Faces are the superficial characteristics of the time. They are not only closely related to individuals’ life path, but also intertwined with identities and cultural groups. Identity is an important topic in contemporary art. In a context where globalization and localism confront each other, artists are questioning and challenging the unitary identity discipline. Nevertheless, we need to think over the issue of identity in a reverse perspective: who on earth is limiting the free development of cultural identity as well as the diversification of personal identity? Does it derive from the prejudice of west-centrism or the backwardness of local culture?An Eastern version of the question is: who is containing you?

在20世纪90年代初随着城市化的进程，越来越多原本在农村和偏远地区的人来到城市工作、生活。其中有许多来自大凉山的彝族人以各种方式生活在我居住的城市。由于生存环境的改变、语言的差异、生活节奏的加剧等原因他们难以快速适应并融入城市生活，这给他们带来了很多问题。凉山彝族自治州位于中国西南部的大凉山山脉，在这片土地上生活着近两百多万的彝族人。

In the early 1990s, with the progress of urbanization, more and more people living in rural and remote areas are coming to work and live in the city. Many Yi people from the Daliang Mountain is now living in my city in many different ways. The change of living environment, the difference of languages, the intensification of the pace of life and other reasons make it difficult for them to quickly adapt to and integrate into urban life, and at the same time, which brings them many problems. Located in the zone of Daliang Mountains in southwest China, Liangshan Yi autonomous prefecture is home to more than two million Yi people living on this land.

凉山在哪里？彝族人是什么样的少数民族？彝族是从哪里来的？彝族的历史和文化又是什么样的？……我带着各种各样的问题来到了凉山，用照相机记录彝族人的日常生活。在我的眼里他们是同样面对现实和自然需要生存下去的人。

他们就是我们。

Where is Liangshan? What kind of minority is the Yi people? Where did the Yi people come from? What is the history and culture of the Yi people? ... I came to visit the area where they live with my questions and recorded their daily life with my camera. In my eyes, they are not some kind of minority that is different from me, but people who also face reality and need to survive.

They are us.

关于艺术家

黎朗，1969年出生，现工作、生活在成都。其作品参加了休斯顿摄影双年展、集美阿尔勒摄影节、北京国际摄影双年展、大邱摄影双年展和连州国际摄影节等二十多个国内外重要的摄影展览。

主要展览

1974，连州摄影博物馆，连州，中国 (2018)；

主要奖项

黎朗曾获得过中国连州国际摄影年展评委会特别奖（2015），美国琼斯母亲国际报道摄影最高奖（1998）。作品被美国旧金山现代美术馆、中国上海美术馆、西班牙瓦伦西亚现代艺术博物馆、中国广东美术馆、中国麓湖·A4 美术馆、澳大利亚悉尼白兔美术馆等机构收藏。

Li Lang was born in 1969 in Chengdu, Sichuan Province. Currently lives and works in Chengdu. His works have participated in more than twenty important photographic exhibitions at home and abroad, such as The 12th International Biennial of Photography in Houston, USA；Jimei x Arles International Photo Festival in Jimei, China; Beijing International Photo Biennale; Daegu Photo Biennale, Daegu, Korea; and Lianzhou International Photo Festival, Lianzhou, China.

Major Awards

He has won the Special Jury Prize, Lianzhou Photo Festival, Lianzhou, China(2015); the top prize of Motherjones International Fund for Documentary Photography Awards “The Motherjones Medal of Excellence”(1998). His works have been collected by many institutions including San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, USA; Shanghai Art Museum, China; Instituto Valenciano de Arte Moderno, Spain; Guangdong Museum of Art, China; LUXELAKES· A4 Art Museum, Chengdu, China; White Rabbit Gallery, Sydney, Australia, etc.

黎朗《彝》系列作品收录于由中国民族文化出版社所出版的《文献之上——当代语境下的中国纪实摄影》。这本书共收录了27 位艺术家的作品，是对活跃于中国大陆地区的当代语境中的纪实摄影家——他们以重审现实为行动力，并让照片的内涵超越文献属性——进行全方位的学术梳理与展示，并以此纪念摄影术诞生180周年。
