promote/prəˈməʊt/vt.促进，推动；促销；提升，晋升

一、单词记忆

小学的时候我们就学过一个单词，move，动词，“移动”的意思。这个单词的前3个字母mov就是一个词根，表示“移动”的意思。这个词根有时候也会写成mot。辅音字母v变成t，含义还是不变的。我们在mot的前面加上pro，forward，“向前”的意思，后面加上一个不发音的，没有实在意义的字母e，promote，向前移动，就是“促进，推动”。
