如何查看英文期刊投稿进度(国外期刊投稿技巧12条与投稿操作演示)
本文根据王老师的讲座视频整理而成,文稿未经专家本人审阅。

王老师,山东大学管理学院副研究员,入选山东大学青年学者未来计划,荣获2020年管理科学与工程学会优秀博士学位论文奖(每年10篇)。研究方向为交通运输规划与管理、交通运输系统建模与分析等。相关研究成果发表在交通运输管理领域顶级期刊《Transportation Research Part B》、《Transportation Research Part E》,以及《Physica A》、《系统工程理论与实践》等。主持国家自然科学基金青年项目,参与多项科研项目(包括“973”项目,国家自然科学基金重大项目等),多次参加国内外学术会议并作学术报告。
一、国外顶刊的投稿程序
我们以国际顶级期刊Transportation Research Part B: Methodological(TRB)为例进行说明。
1.选择合适的刊物
可向你论文参考文献的所在期刊投稿。这就是所谓的“合适”。论文中可以多引用该期刊的文章,这样就更容易让主编或审稿人觉得我们经常阅读该刊物,所以才会引用上面的文章,也会因此做出判断:你的文章投在这本刊物上是合适的。
2.投稿时要了解本专业的国际、国内的相关期刊。
3.考虑文章内容是否符合刊物的“口味”。
4.了解主编和编委所从事的研究工作等。
5.了解刊物的审稿方式,包括负责匿名审稿的老师有几位。
6.了解刊物的出版周期、数量、是否检索期刊等。
7.了解刊物是否收取版面费。比如开源(将学术信息放在互联网上供所有人共享,不需要考虑版权或注册的限制)期刊一般都会收取版面费,包括Nature、Science,也有一些好的期刊是不收版面费的。
8.准备一份投稿信。
二、如何投稿国外顶刊
1.“贡献大”投高档刊物,“贡献小”投低档刊物。要对自己的能力有信心,瞄准国际高水平刊物投稿。
2.可选择不收版面费的国际刊物。
3.科学研究的重要成果一定要投给国际刊物。目前的趋势就是如此。虽然中国正在大力推广国内期刊,但是就管理科学领域或社会科学领域来说,国内期刊的水平还有很大的提升空间。因此如果你的研究成果特别重要,最好投给国际刊物。打个比方,投给国际刊物相当于参加奥运会,投给国内一级刊物相当于参加全运会,投给地方刊物相当于参加省运会。
4.仔细阅读所投刊物的投稿指南,严格按照要求准备论文。包括署名、地址、联系方式、摘要、关键词、章节、段落、参考文献,包括字体、公式编排、标点符号都要仔细检查,要跟绣花一样仔细。

We are submitting to you the following manuscript by Jing-peng Wang, Hai-jun Huang, and Jeff Ban for your consideration of publication by the Journal:
Dynamic ridesharing with variable-ratio charging-compensation scheme for morning commute
We introduce in this paper a variable-ratio charging-compensation scheme(VCS)for dynamic ridesharing for morning commute with a single bottleneck VCS is featured by a non-fixed ratio between the charges to the riders and the compensation to the driver of the same ridesharing trip.We investigate the optimal VCS to help achieve different objectives desirable for the ridesharing platform, including minimizing the system disutility, maximizing the platforms profit, and minimizing disutility with zero profit of the platform. We then conduct a series of numerical studies of the methods in traffic simulation, with a few interesting observations and findings.
Although there have been research works in the past on dynamic ridesharing, we believe that the manuscript has significant scientific contributions in terms of introducing VCS and conducting comprehensive investigations on optimal VCS for various objectives of the platform. Our research confirms that VCS can enable the ridesharing platform to achieve its(various) desirable objectives without the use of road pricing. This and other findings in this paper are expected to provide useful insight when designing and managing dynamic ridesharing systems.

首先要写明时间和审稿人(或编辑)的姓名,然后用“We are submitting to you the following manuscript by...”说明投稿人的姓名与论文题目,接下来就是文章题目。然后用“we introduce in this paper...”来说明投稿原因。最后用“please advise if you have any questions”结尾,并附上联系方式,这就是cover letter(投稿信)的写法。

Attached please find a research paper “Regulation on an on-demand ride service system with express and limousine” by Jing-peng Wang and Hai-jun Huang, submitted to Transportation Research Part B for possible publication.
Motivated by the Uber’s and Didi’s differentiated operation policies , in this paper we investigate an on-demand ride service system which provides express and limousine services to price-sensitive customers through earning-sensitive drivers We formulate an analytical model which aims at maximizing the service platform's profit by means of the price rate charged from customers, the wage rate compensation for divers and the reservation rate that differentiates express from limousine. We have analyzed the solution properties and obtained the optimal platform regulatory instruments. Some interesting findings or insights are achieved, which are useful for designing and managing the on-demand ride service system.

当时Bhat教授已成为了主编。“Attached please find a research paper...”说明论文题目与作者姓名。“Motivated by the Uber’s and Didi’s differentiated operation policies , in this paper... ”是投稿该期刊的理由。这一段话基本上就是论文摘要的内容。最后记得附上联系方式。
三、投稿步骤
以TRB为例,我们来说一下投稿国外顶刊的具体操作步骤。
TRB使用的是Editorial Manager系统,网址为https://www.editorialmanager.com/trb/default2.aspx。Editorial Manager是目前国际上使用最广泛的网络论文投稿与审稿系统,现在国外多家核心期刊均在使用该系统进行投稿,包括Nature、Cancer Cell、PLOS ONE等。
首先需要注册一个账号。注册完可以看到password下面有四个选项,分别是作者登录(author login)、审稿人登录(reviewer login)、编辑登录(editor login)以及出版商登录(publisher login)。我们作为投稿人,选择author login即可。
登录后,选择提交新手搞(submit new manuscript),点击下一步,然后选择手稿的类型,比如是会议记录还是综述类文章等,需根据自己的手稿类别进行选择。
点击proceed可以继续。接下来可以拖拽(drag & drop files here)或在文件夹中选择(browse)将你要提交的论文上传,点击下一步。如果提交成功会出现一个窗口,说明你已经提交了文章。
最后系统会生成pdf,包括论文编号、题目、作者身份、提交时间、当前状态等。可以随时登录editorial manager查看你的稿件状态。
