Children's Day Celebration

家庭自制儿童节庆祝活动

Child: Mom, tomorrow is June 1st, Children's Day.

宝宝：妈妈，明天是六一儿童节。

Where are we going to celebrate?

咱们去哪庆祝啊？

Mom: We'd better stay at home because of the pandemic,

妈妈：因为有疫情，咱们最好还是呆在家里，

but Daddy and I have a good plan to celebrate your day.

但是我和爸爸有一个好主意来庆祝你的节日。

Why don't we create some carnival games at home?

我们在家自制几个嘉年华游乐项目吧。

Child: Sounds great!

宝宝：太好了！

☀ On Children's Day 儿童节当天

Wheel of Fortune 幸运转盘

Mom: Look at this picture of the Wheel of Fortune people made at home.

妈妈：看看这张图片，是人们在家做的幸运转盘。

Child: It looks cool,

宝宝：看起来很棒，

but do we have a big enough piece of cardboard?

但是我们有足够大的硬纸板吗？

Mom: No, but we can do this instead:

妈妈：没有，但是咱们可以这么做：

Cut a piece of printer paper into 12 equal sized cards.

把一张打印纸剪成大小相同的12张卡片。

Lay them out in a circle.

把它们摆成一个圆圈。

Do we want to write various numbers or fun activities on each card?

咱们在每张卡片上写上各种数字还是好玩的活动呢？

Child: Activities!

宝宝：活动！

☀ Finish writing activities 写完活动名称

Mom: Now we put a pen in the center.

妈妈：现在我们在中间放一支笔。

（自家女儿自己编了一套，字迹潦草请见谅）

Daddy can be the first one to spin it.

爸爸第一个转吧。

☀ Dad spins the pen 爸爸转笔

Mom: Let's see what he gets！

妈妈：看看他转到什么了！

Child: 10 pushups.

宝宝：10个俯卧撑。

Daddy has to do 10 pushups!

爸爸需要做10个俯卧撑！

Mom: Good for him!

妈妈：对他很有好处！

ring Toss 套圈

Child: What other games can we play at home?

宝宝：还有什么别的游戏能在家玩吗？

Mom: The next one is ring toss.

妈妈：下一个是套圈。

Child: Do we have rings and what do we toss onto?

宝宝：咱们有圈吗，还有套在什么上面呢？

Mom: We can make rings from waste paper boxes.

妈妈：我们可以用废纸盒做圈。

Cut the paper box into strips

把纸盒剪成一条一条的，

and four of them can make a ring.

四个可以做一个圈。

Stick one strip half way along the other,

把一个条粘在另一个条一半的位置，

and make sure to stick the plain sides together

记住要粘空白面，

instead of the printed sides.

而不是印刷面。

After sticking on the fourth strip,

粘上第4条以后，

we can connect the two ends together to make a loop.

我们就可以把两头连在一起做成一个圈了。

We want to make the ring two layers

我们要把圈做成两层的，

so that it's heavier and sturdier.

这样能更重更坚固。

Child: Got it. I can do it.

宝宝：明白了。我可以做。

Mom: We don't need the traditional poles and bases

妈妈：我们不需要传统的套杆和底座，

and we can just put some small things on the floor as targets.

我们可以直接摆一些小东西在地上作为目标。

Child: I'll do the targets.

宝宝：我来摆目标。

☀ Ring toss facilities all set 套圈设施就绪

Mom: Hold the ring like you would hold a frisbee,

妈妈：像拿飞盘一样拿着圈儿，

between your thumb and pointer finger.

用你的拇指和食指。

Aim, flick your wrist, and toss.

瞄准，手腕一抖，扔。

☀ Child tries tossing 宝宝试着扔

Child: Uh-oh! Missed the first one, so try again.

宝宝：啊哦！第一个没套中，再试一次。

☀ Child tries again 宝宝又试了一次

Mom: Nice work - you got that one!

妈妈：漂亮——这次成功了！

Child: Oh, I got a bar of chocolate.

宝宝：哦，我套到一块巧克力。

Mom: Yeah, you did great.

妈妈：是的，你套得很好。

Go get your prize.

去拿你的奖品吧。

Child: Yummy!

宝宝：真好吃！

Balloon Darts 气球飞镖

Mom: Last game - balloon darts.

妈妈：最后一个游戏——气球飞镖。

Let's get everything ready.

咱们把东西都准备好。

How about you and Daddy blow up all the balloons?

你和爸爸把气球都打好气怎么样？

Blow up a balloon不一定是用嘴吹，用气筒打气也可以。

I'll cut out a big piece of cardboard and fix it on the wall.

我来剪个大纸板安在墙上。

There!

好啦！

Now we tape all the balloons on the board.

现在我们把气球都粘到纸板上。

Child: Finished!

宝宝：完成啦！

Mom: Here are the darts you use to hit the balloons.

妈妈：这些是用来扎气球的飞镖。

If you hit enough balloons, you will win a prize.

如果你扎到足够多的气球，你会获得奖品。

Child: What's the prize and how many balloons should I hit?

宝宝：奖品是什么啊，需要扎到几个气球？

Mom: Let's keep the prize as a secret

妈妈：奖品暂时是个秘密，

and one out of five tries gets it.

五次中一次就能得到它。

Hold the dart between your thumb, forefinger, and middle finger.

用大拇指、食指和中指握住飞镖。

Then throw it at the board, not too hard.

然后对准板子扔，不要太使劲。

☀ Child throws dart 宝宝扔飞镖

Child: Uh-oh! I missed.

宝宝：啊噢！没扎到。

Mom: That was a good throw, though.

妈妈：但是扔得挺好的。

Child: Can I try again?

宝宝：我能再试试吗？

Mom: Sure, you have four more tries.

妈妈：当然，你还有4次机会。

☀ Child throws again 宝宝又扔了一次

Mom: You got it!

妈妈：扔到了！

Looks like you get a "tiger in the music room" playset.

看来你可以得到一个老虎音乐屋玩具套装了。

Child: Oh, I love it.

宝宝：哦，我好喜欢它。

Is it the Children's Day gift you bought me?

这是你们给我买的儿童节礼物吧？

Mom: Yes, glad you like it.

妈妈：嗯，很高兴你喜欢它。

Child: Thank you, Mommy and Daddy, for the gift and the carnival!

宝宝：谢谢爸爸妈妈的礼物和嘉年华！
