那个年代，是华语流行音乐的黄金时代，铸就太多传奇。而当时最有名的唱片公司就是宝丽金，在过去几十年里，宝丽金曾将许冠杰、张学友、谭咏麟、陈慧娴、黎明、张国荣等歌手揽入旗下，也让其唱片成为粤语经典的代名词。

For most Chinese who were born between the 1970s and 1980s, Polygram symbolizes the golden era of Cantonese pop, with the most glittering A-list singers including Jacky Cheung and Leon Lai Ming.

本周早些时候，环球音乐对其在中国的运营架构作出重大调整，推出全新的“多厂牌运营战略”，重启已沉寂二十年的宝丽金唱片（PolyGram Records China）。

此外，环球还设立顶级国际音乐厂牌——Republic唱片（Republic Records）的中国分部，重启见证华语流行音乐百年历史的EMI唱片（EMI China）和以独立品牌方式运行环球音乐中国。

Earlier this week, Universal Music Greater China (UMGC), a division of the industry giant Universal Music Group (UMG), announced a significant expansion of its music recording operations within China, including the establishment of a multi-label structure.

PolyGram Records China, once the most influential label of Cantonese pop songs, is relaunched as part of UMGC's new strategy. Besides, Republic Records China, EMI China and Universal Music China will also respectively be relaunched or operated as independent labels.

宝丽金经典回顾

许冠杰《鬼马双星》 (1974年)

在粤语歌坛，许冠杰堪称第一代歌神。他的专辑《鬼马双星》在70年代中期一发行，就创下东南亚总销量达15万张的纪录。其中收录的专辑同名主打歌《鬼马双星》是第一首在英国BBC电台播放的中文歌曲。

Hailed as the first "god" in Cantonese pop music, Samuel Hui' s debut album Games Gamblers Play scored record sales up to 150,000 copies in Southeast Asia when it was released in mid-1970s. The eponymous song in the album has been the first Chinese-language song aired by BBC.

谭咏麟《爱情陷阱》(1985年)

在红磡体育馆开演唱会时，因一段讲话而被歌迷们戏称为“谭校长”的谭咏麟，是宝丽金最高产的歌手之一。他的经典之作《爱情陷阱》至今已卖出100多万张，也曾陪伴了许多人的青春岁月。

Hong Kong singer Alan Tam is called by his fans as "Principal Tan" after his influential speech to define the relationship between pop music and education in Hong Kong Coliseum. As one of the most prolific singers in Polygram, Tam' s classic album Love Trap has sold more than 1 million copies since its debut in 1985.

黎明《是爱是缘》(1991)

“四大天王”曾开启了香港流行文化圈最辉煌的时代，位居其中的黎明，靠着《是爱是缘》获得1991年IFPI全年最佳销量大碟，为他在乐坛的地位打下坚实基础。

As one of the Cantopop Four Heavenly Kings, Leo Lai Ming shot to stardom in the music industry with his 1991 album Love & Romance, which won the best-sold album award of IFPI in 1991.

张学友《吻别》(1993年)

能被称为“歌神”的寥寥无几，而同样位列“四大天王”之一的张学友就是公认的、继许冠杰之后的香港第二代“歌神”。他在1993年推出的《吻别》，全球销量高达400万，也为他奠定香港歌坛天王的地位。

Despite few singers being hailed as "god of songs", Jacky Cheung, also one of the Cantopop Four Heavenly Kings, has won the glorious nickname as "god of songs" with his brilliant singing skills. His 1993 album The Goodbye Kiss has sold up to 4 million copies, setting a record for Chinese-language pop songs in the world and also laying the foundation for his top status in Hong Kong's pop music industry.
