A Greedy Fox

一只贪婪的狐狸

There is a fox lives in the forest.

有一只狐狸住在森林里。

One day, a lorry transporting hams drives across the forest.

一天，一辆运送火腿的卡车驶过森林。

A big ham falls off the lorry on the ground.

一只大火腿从卡车上掉了下来，掉在了地上。

It so happened that the fox lives in this forest sees it.

碰巧住在这片森林里的那只狐狸看到了它。

It holds the ham in its mouth happily.

它高兴地把火腿叼在了嘴里。

It thinks: “I can enjoy a good dinner soon.”

它想:“我很快就能享受一顿丰盛的晚餐了。”

There is a bridge over the river.

森林里的河上有一座桥。

The fox’s den is at the other side of the river.

狐狸的窝在河的另一边。

The fox goes on the bridge and catches a glimpse of the river.

狐狸走上了桥，往河里瞥了一眼。

It finds in surprise that there is a fox in the river.

它惊奇地发现河里竟然也有一只狐狸。

It also has a big ham in its mouth, too.

嘴里也有一个大火腿。

It thinks greedily,

它贪婪地想:

“That ham must be nicer than mine,

“它那只火腿一定比我的更好，

I must get it.”

我一定要弄到它。”

So it opens its mouth and wants to rob that ham.

于是它张开嘴想要抢那块火腿。

But as soon as it opens its mouth,

可是它刚一张嘴，

the ham in its mouth falls into the river,

嘴里的火腿就掉进河里，

and is washed away by the river.

被河水冲走了。
