什么是连词

连词（Conjunction）是连接单词、短语、从句或句子的一种虚词，比如：and、or、but等。虽然它是虚词，但对段落中句子的起承转合，起到了很大的作用。学好了连词，有利于我们进行阅读理解。

连词的分类

并列连词，比如：and、or、both...and...等

转折连词，比如：but、yet、however等

因果连词，比如：for、so、therefore等

从属连词，分两类，1是引导名词性从句，比如：that、if、whether；2是引导状语从句，比如when、while、as、where、if、why、because、since。

连词的用法

第一、并列连词

1、and

1.1、and，和

I used to live in Paris and London.我曾在伦敦和巴黎居住。

1.2、and，表顺承

He went lo the market and bought some vegetables. 他到市场买了一些蔬菜。

1.3、and，表目的

Come and help me out.过来帮我一下

1.4、and，表条件

Be careful and you'll make fewer mistakes.如果小心你犯的错误就少。

1.5、and，表动作重复

He talked and talked and talked.他谈呀谈呀谈呀。

1.6、连接两从句

Miya says that she loves her job and that she will devote her life to it.

米娅说她非常喜欢她的工作并愿意为之而奋斗终身。

1.7、连接两主句

Falling in love is one thing and getting married is another.

恋爱是一回事，结婚是另一回事。

1.8、both...and... 两者都

Both you and me are students. 你和我都是学生。

2、or

2.1、或，表选择

Would you like tea or coffee? 你想喝茶还是咖啡?

2.2、否则

Study hard，or you will fail. 努力学习，否则你就会失败。

否定句中代替and表示并列

He can't read or write.他既不会读也不会写。

2.3、or else 否则

You must be joking, or else you're mad. 你一定是开玩笑，不然你就是疯了。

2.4、either…or... 不是……就是……

Either you or he has to go. 不是你就是他得去。

3、otherwise 否则

He reminded me of what I should otherwise have forgotten.

他提醒了我，要不然我就会把这件事给忘了。

4、as well as 也，还，强调前面的对象

Your wife as well as you is friendly to me.

不仅你而且你的妻子也对我很友好。

5、neither...nor... 既不......也不......

Neither you nor I am to blame.

你和我都不应受责备。

6、not only...but also... 不但……而且……，强调后面的对象

We should not only be cautious but also be brave.

我们不仅应该谨填而且应该勇敢。

第二，转折连词

1、but 但是

不能和and、though连用

I failed again, but I won't give up. 我又失败了,但我决不放弃。

2、yet 然而

可以和and、though连用

The problem was a little hard, yet I was able to work it out.

这道题有点难,然而我把它做出来了。

3、still 仍然

He talked a lot，still I couldn't see the point.

他讲了很多，我仍然领会不了要点。

4、while 然而

Some people enjoy living in the country, while some enjoy living in the city.

一些人喜欢住在乡村,一些人喜欢住在城里。

5、however 然而

The problem is difficult，however, many of us have solved it.

题是难了些，但我们很多人都做出来了。

6、whereas 然而

I love strong tea while my father loves coffee.我喜欢浓茶，然而我爸爸却喜欢咖啡。

第三，因果连词

1、because 因为，用于直接因果关系，语气强

He is called Mitch, because his name is Mitchell.人们叫他米奇，因为他大名叫米切尔。

2、as 由于，表双方都知道的原因，语气弱

As it was raining, we went there by bus.由于天在下雨，我们乘公共汽车去那里了。

3、since 既然，表双方都知道的原因，语气弱

Since the rain stopped, let's go out for a walk.既然雨停了，咱们就出去散步吧。

4、for 因为，表推测或进一步说明

The day breaks for the birds are singing.天亮了，因为鸟在叫。

第四、从属连词

1、引导名词性从句

1.1、that

The problem is that we haven't got enough money.问题是我们没有足够的钱。

1.2、whether/if 是否

Do you know whether/if the museum is open on Sunday?

博物馆星期天是否开门，你知道吗?

2、引导状语从句

2.1、引导时间状语从句

when，当......时，when可以表示时间上的一点或一段时间

They had left when I got there. 当我到那时他们已经离开了。

while，正当......时，while通常表示一段时间

It started to rain while we were playing outdoors.

我们在室外玩耍时，开始下雨了。

until 直到…...为止

Let's wait until the rain stops. 咱们等雨停了吧。

till 直到…...为止

We're open till 6 o'clock. 我们营业到6点钟。

as soon as 一......就......

He got married as soon as he graduated. 他一毕业就结婚了。

2.2、引导地点状语从句

where

Where there is a will，there is a way.有志者，事竟成。
wherever

Sit wherever you like.你爱坐在哪儿就坐哪儿。

2.3、引导条件状语从句

We'll doesn't go fishing if it doesn't rain. 如果明天不下雨，我们就去钓鱼。

2.4 、引导目的状语从句

He hasn't got any hobbies，unless you call watching TV a hobby.

他没有什么爱好，除非你把看电视也称作爱好。

2.5、引导让步状语从句

Though Canada is large，the population is small.尽管加拿大面积大，人口却很少。

2.6、引导结果状语从句

​so...that...
如此......以致......

He was so tired that he fell asleep fast. 他累得很快就睡着了。

2.7、引导比较状语从句

than 比较

I'm older than you .我年龄比你大。

2.8、引导方式状语从句

as 按照

You should do as I told you.应该按我说的做。
