① “mourn”的在牛津词典英文释义是：to feel and show sadness because sb has died; to feel sad because sth no longer exists or is no longer the same

也就是：“（因失去…而）哀悼，忧伤 ”

和“mourn”相似的单词意思是“grieve for”，它可以翻译成：“为…而伤心”

比如杜甫的诗句：“出师未捷身先死，长使英雄泪满襟”就可以翻译成：How sad that he had to die before he gained victory,' leaving great men of succeeding generations to grieve for him.
