busybody是什么（Busybody可不是大忙人）

之前我们说过普通人叫做average Joe，我们也学过宅男宅女叫做homebody。

那今天我们要学一个新的body叫做busybody，但是busybody可不是大忙人哦！那是什么人呢？

It means someone who interferences in other's lives and wants to know everything about everyone.

这么看来，busybody就是特别喜欢掺和别人的生活，以及打听别人八卦的人，那可不是天天“忙忙碌碌”的么。

英语例句：

① I don't want to sound like a busybody, but didn't you plan to go abroad this July?

我不想听起来像个多管闲事的人，但你不是打算今年7月出国吗？

② I really want to get rid of all my relatives because they are interfering busybodies!

我真想把我所有的亲戚都赶走，因为他们太爱管闲事啦！

* 是不是很多人的心声？interfering也表示管闲事的，是个形容词。Interfering busybody双重强调！超级爱多管闲事的人。

Down-to-earth means very practical，sensible and realistic。

务实，很实际的，理智的又实在的。咔咔就特别喜欢非常务实的人。

英语例句：

① We could be friends because none of us are massive egotists, we're down-to-earth people, really.

我们可以成为朋友，是因为我们都不是极端的自我主义者，我们是脚踏实地的人，真的。

* ego自我，egotist很自我的人。

② Maybe you're right. I should stop dreaming about winning a lottery. I should try to be more down-to-earth.

也许你是对的。我不应该再幻想中了。我应该更加脚踏实地。

想想看，我们经常会鼓励人：go get it，去追求吧，所以go get it的人就叫做go getter 。

Go-getter is a person who is active, energetic and has the initiative to pursue the things they want。

就是那种积极进取，有能量，并且去追求他们所想要的事情的人，叫go-getter。

英语例句：

① Interviewers want you to be a go-getter, but they also worry that you'll get restless if you don't move up fast enough.

面试官希望你是一个有进取心的人，但他们也担心，如果你提升不够快，你会变得焦躁不安。

* rest休息，less少，所以组合起来restless就是休息不够，焦躁不安的。

② The go-getter worked all day, skipping his lunch break, expecting that his superior effort would be rewarded.

这个锐意进取的人，工作了一整天，跳过了午休，期待着他的卓越努力会得到回报。

* skip表示跳过。这里skip the lunch break表示跳过了午休。Skip a class表示我要翘掉一节课。
