E. How to Be Yourself?

如何做自己?

1.Everyone is born to be unique. It's important to know yourself, to like yourself, and to always be yourself. However, it's not always easy to be yourself. Here are some tips.

·每个人生来就是独特的。了解自己,喜欢自己并总是做自已是很重要的。然而,做自己并不总是那么容易,这儿有一些建议。

1.1Everyone is born to be unique.每个人生来就是独特的。可以作为一句名言记住。

1.2It's important (for sb.)to do sth.(某人)干某事很重要。

1.3know oneself了解自己。

1.4like oneself喜欢自己。

1.5be oneself做自己。

1.6it's not easy to do sth.做某事不容易。

1.7tip名词，小费；小建议；轻拍；尖端，顶端；倾斜，翻倒。作“小建议”讲时是可数名词。

2.·Find yourself. You can't be yourself if you don't know, understand or believe in yourself

first.

·发现自己。首先，如果你不先了解、理解或信任自己，你就不能做你自己。

2.1believe in相信;信任;信奉，信仰。

3·Stop caring about what others think of you. “Do you think I'm funny?Does he like me? Does she think I'm silly?" It's impossible to be yourself if you are always

worrying about these things. To be yourself, you have to let go of these worries and have confidence in yourself.

·不要在意别人对你的评价。“你认为我有趣吗？他喜欢我吗？她认为我愚蠢吗？”如果你总是担心这些事情,你不可能做你自己。要做你自己,你必须抛开这些烦恼,对自己有信心。

3.1care about关心；担心；在乎。

care for喜欢；照顾，照料。

take care小心；当心；注意。

3.2I'm funny.和I'm silly.都是宾语从句，做think的宾语。

3.3worry about担心;担忧。

3.4 It's impossible to do sth.做某事不可能。

3.5let go of sth.放手(不再思考或担心)，相当于let sth. go。

let go of sb./sth.放开某人/某物=let sb./ sth. go。

3.6worry做名词“烦恼”讲时，是可数名词。

3.7have confidence in...对……有信心。

4·Relax. Stop thinking about the worst that could happen. If something embarrassing happens to you, learn to laugh at yourself and turn it into a funny story that you can share with others. It lets them know that you are not perfect and makes you feel more relaxed, too.

·放轻松。不要去考虑可能发生的最糟糕的事情。如果有什么尴尬的事情发生在你身上,学会自我解嘲并把它变成一个能与他人分享的有趣故事。这让他们知道你并不完美,也会使你感到更加放松。

4.1stop doing sth.停止干某事。

embarrasse[ɪm'bærəs]动词，（使）窘迫，（使）局促不安；（使）困难。

4.5happen to用法：①一般以事件、环境、形势等作主语，表示“某人发生某事”时，须以介词to 引出“某人”；②作“碰巧”解时，其后须接动词不定式构成复合谓语，可由人称代词或无人称代词it作主语，与if连用则可使语气委婉。

③happen to无被动语态。

★happen是不及物动词，它的用法常见的有如下几种情况：

①表示“某地(某时)发生了什么事”，常用“sth. happen 地点/时间”这一结构来表达，此时主语应是事情。如：

The story happened in 2003.这个故事发生在2003年。

An accident happened in that street.那条街上发生了一起事故。

②表示“某人出了某事(常指不好的事)”，要用“sth. happen to sb.”这一结构来表达。例如:

A car accident happened to her this morning.今天上午她发生了交通事故。

What happened to you?你怎么啦?

③表示“某人碰巧做某事”，要用“sb. happen to do sth.”这一结构来表达。例如：

I happened to meet a friend of mine in thestreet yesterday.昨天我碰巧在街上遇到了我的一个朋友。

④happen表示“碰巧或恰巧发生某事”时，还可用"It happens /happened that...这一结构来表达。如

It happened that Brian and Peter were athome that day.碰巧那天布莱恩和彼得在家了。

It happened that he had to take part in ameeting that afternoon.碰巧那天下午他不得不参加一个会议。

注： that从句中的主语是人时，此种结构可以与“sb. happen to do sth.”结构互换。例如:

It happened that Brian and Peter were at home that day.= Brian and Peter happened to be at home that day.

4.6laugh at 嘲笑;付之一笑;因…而发笑。

She is not afraid to laugh at herself.她不怕取笑自己。

4.7turn...into...成为；使变成。

4.8share with分享。

4.9makes you feel more relaxed其中feel more relaxed为省略to的动词不定式作宾语补足语。

4.10feel more relaxed感到更加放松。

5·Develop and express yourself. If your favourite way of doing something is different from others, do it and don't give up. You should learn to be proud of what makes you unique.

·提高并表达自己。如果你最喜欢的做事方式与他人不同,做下去,不要放弃。你应该学会为那些使你独特的事感到骄傲。

5.1be different from与……不同。

5.2be proud of为..感到骄傲，以...自豪。

Your achievements are something to be proud of.你的成就是值得骄傲的。

5.3what makes you unique是宾语从句，用作介词of的宾语。

3.Reflexive Pronouns反身代词。

We are supposed to describe ourselves in a report.我们应该在报告中描述我们自己。

I can use reflexive pronouns properly.我能正确地使用反身代词。

3.1be supposed to do sth.应该干某事。

3.2reflexive[rɪˈfleksɪv]形容词，反身的。

4.Object Complements宾语补足语。

My parents want me to study medicine.我父母想让我学医。
