在S01E17里面谢耳朵为了去一家四川餐馆讨个说法，苦练他的中文，却闹出不少笑话呢，一起来看看吧。

-Sheldon：Wo de zing shi Sheldon.

我的字是 Sheldon。

-Howard：No, it's "Wo de ming zi shi Sheldon."

不，应该是"我的名字是 Sheldon"。

-Sheldon：Wo de ming zi shi Sheldon.

我的名字是 Sheldon。

-Howard：What's this?

这是什么?

-Sheldon：That's what you did.

那不是跟你学的吗?

I assumed as in a number of languages, that the gesture was part of the phrase.

我以为在许多种语言当中手势也是表达的一部分。

【assume：猜想 ；gesture：手势； phrase：语句】

-Howard：Well, it's not.

好吧，这里不是。

-Sheldon：How am I supposed to know that?

我怎么会知道那个?

【suppose：假定 be supposed to：应该，被期望】

As the teacher, it's your obligation to separate your personalidiosyncrasies from the subject matter.

作为一个老师，将所教内容与你的特异习惯分开是你的责任。

【obligation：义务，责任 ；separate：分开；

idiosyncrasies：习性，癖好； subject matter：主旨】

-Howard：You know, I'm really glad you decided to learnMandarin.

知道吗，你决定学普通话我真的非常高兴。【Mandarin：普通话】

-Sheldon：Why?

为什么?

-Howard：Once you're fluent,

等你说流利了，

you'll have a billion more people to annoy instead me.

你可以去骚扰十多亿人，我就解放了。

【fluent：流畅的；annoy：干扰，使烦恼】

-Leonard：Hey.

嘿。

-Sheldon：Mei du lui zi.

梅毒驴子。

-Howard：You just called Leonard a syphilitic donkey.

你刚刚把 Leonard 叫成了一头患了性病的驴子。

【syphilitic：梅毒病人； donkey：驴】

-Sheldon：My apologies, Leonard. I'm only as good as my teacher.

很抱歉 Leonard，我无法超越我的老师的水平。

-Leonard：Why are you learning Chinese?

你为什么要学中文?

-Sheldon：I believe the Szechuan Palace

【Szechuan：四川省（中国）； palace：宫殿 ；Szechuan Palace：是一家美国中餐馆的名字】

我认为老四川餐馆 (亚利桑那州凤凰城 44 街 668 号的中餐馆)。

has been passing off orange chicken as tangerine chicken,

一直在用橙皮鸡柳冒充陈皮鸡柳 (可以说就是同一

种食物)，【pass off：冒充 orange：橙子 tangerine：柑橘】

and I intend to confront them.

【intend：打算 ；confront：使对质】

我打算去和他们对质。

-Leonard：If I were you, I'd be more concerned about what they're passing off as chicken.

【concern：关心】

如果我是你，我会更关心他们用什么东西冒充了鸡柳。

好啦，来复习一下句型和进行拓展吧~

My apologies

向别人道歉的时候，除了我们常说的Sorry,还可以说My apologies，这里的apologies一定要用复数。

向别人道歉时，还可以说：

1.I apologize for...我为...道歉。

2.I really didn't mean that.我真的不是故意的。

3.Forgive me for...原谅我...

4.Please accept my apologies for...请接受我对...的道歉。

而对于道歉的回答，可以说：

1.That's OK.

2.Never mind.

3.Forget it .

I intend to confront them.

我打算去和他们当面对质。

intend：打算；confront ：面对、遭遇。如果你想和别人讨个说法，可以用这个句子，例如：

They spoke my secret out today. I intend to confront them and ask for an explanation.他们今天把我的秘密传了出去，我打算和他们当面对质，让他们给我一个解释。

How can they do that!I'm on your side.他们怎么能这样做！我支持你。

在谈论语言技能的熟练程度的时候，往往可以用到这些句子哦。

1.Can you speak English?

2.My English is not very good.

3.I can speak a little Chinese.

4.I'm fluent in English.

5.I'm good at communicating in English.
