西南财经大学（西财，Southwestern University of Finance andEconomics），于1925年6月3日始建，坐落于四川省成都市，前身是光华大学，直属中国教育部，是以经济学管理学为主体、金融学为重点的全国重点大学，被誉为“中国金融人才库”，国家首批“双一流”世界一流学科建设高校，国家“211工程”“985工程”优势学科创新平台“重点建设高校。

该校入选”2011计划“、教育部人文社会科学重点研究基地、国家经济学基础人才培养基地、国家建设高水平大学公派研究生项目、中国政府奖学金来华留学生接收院校、全国深化创新创业教育改革示范高校。

1925年6月3日，在“五卅”反帝爱国怒潮中，爱国师生从圣约翰大学脱离，拥戴张寿镛先生创办光华大学。1938年因抗战西迁建立光华大学成都分部。1946年更名为成华大学。1952至1953年，以成华大学为基础，先后并入西南地区16所院校的财经系科，组建四川财经学院。1960年分设四川财经学院和四川科学技术学院，1961年合并更名为成都大学。1978年恢复为四川财经学院。

Southwestern University of Finance andEconomics (Southwestern University of Finance andEconomics), formerly known as Guanghua University, was founded in Chengdu, Sichuan Province on June 3, 1925, under the direct administration of the Ministry of Education of China. It is a national key university with economics and management as its main body and finance as its focus. It is honored as "China's Financial Talent Pool", one of the first "Double First-Class" universities with world-class disciplines, and a key university with "Project 211" and "Project 985" as the innovation platform for superior disciplines.

The university has been selected as one of the "2011 Plan", the key research base of humanities and social sciences of the Ministry of Education, the national basic talents training base of economics, the government-sponsored graduate program of the National Construction of High-level University, the host institution of Chinese Government Scholarship for international students, and the national demonstration university for deepening innovation and entrepreneurship education reform.

On June 3, 1925, during the anti-imperialist and patriotic tide of May 30, patriotic teachers and students broke away from St. John's University and supported Mr. Chang Shouyong to establish Guanghua University. 1938 Due to the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, Guanghua University Chengdu Branch was established. 1946 It was renamed Chenghua University. From 1952 to 1953, on the basis of Chenghua University, Sichuan Institute of Finance and Economics was successively merged into the departments of finance and economics of 16 colleges and universities in Southwest China to form Sichuan Institute of Finance and Economics. In 1960, Sichuan Institute of Finance and Economics and Sichuan Institute of Science and Technology were established separately. In 1961, they were merged and renamed Chengdu University. 1978 It was reestablished as Sichuan Institute of Finance and Economics.
