"I was very good, I didn't bellow and holler," you announced in a stentorian hearty voice the moment you stepped in, coming back from a supermarket with mummy. "Wow, we must put up a thumb for you," I feigned a gasp of surprise.

你跟妈妈从超市回来一进门，就大声欢快地向我传达信息：“我特别乖，都没哭没喊。”“哇，大赞，”我张开大嘴装出一副极度惊讶的样子。

Then you and mummy got around to coloring a framed Princess Sophia in, which mummy had just bought you in the supermarket. She squeezed from tubes the gel-like paints of different colors onto the white cardboard with the image of the princess while you spread them out with a brush. The gel-like paints did not wind up uniformly on the glossy smooth cardboard but studded the princess' hair and dress with blobs of color reminiscent of the early universe in utter chaos and the sun inside which head-on collisions of particles are generating intense heat and light.

接着你和妈妈就开始给一个镶镜框的索菲娅公主填色，这是妈妈刚给你在超市买的。她从几个管儿里把各色颜料挤到有索菲亚公主形象的白纸板上，同时你用小刷子把颜料抹开。那纸板光亮光亮的，像发胶一样的颜料没有均匀摊开，而是在公主的头发上连衣裙上聚成颜色小块儿，让人想到早期混沌状态中的宇宙和内部粒子猛烈碰撞产生强烈光热的太阳。

The whole thing was then left to air. Occasionally you came over with a wild urge to finger the wet paints, but I reminded you they would smear if you did that.
