赤狗三缄其口（初三赤狗三缄其口）

正月初三称为小年朝，也称为赤狗日。

传说中赤狗是熛怒之神，遇到他的人一定会不吉利，故初三为凶日，不宜外出。

据说在初三最易招惹口舌是非，跟谁拜年，就会跟谁吵架，因而不拜年。

正月初三，天地人三道。

天道忌满，地道中庸，人道慎言。

古人说“三缄其口”，古代一个金人嘴巴上贴了三个封条，意思是说慎言，少说话。

在中国南方，这天早上还要贴“赤口”（禁口），祝愿在新的一年里言语谨慎，出入平安，不与人发生口角。

祸从口出，懂得沉默，是一个人最大的福份。

陆游在《闲居自述》中说：“花如解笑还多事，石不能言最可人。”

花朵能言，一定会像人一样蜚短流长，惹生事端，石头虽不能说话，却诚实而坚韧，招人欢喜。

君子敏于行而讷于言。

新的一年，少说话，多做事，人生才能吉无不利。
