一、概念

过去进行时表示在过去某一时刻正在进行的动作，或者表示过去一段时间内持续进行的动作。

二、过去进行时的时间：

过去进行时的时间有：⑴表示过去的具体时刻,如：at this time yesterday, at that time , this time last week, at seven the day before yesterday morning, at that moment, then;

②过去的一段时间：from 1 to four yesterday afternoon

⑵以when（当…的时候，在这时），while（与…同时）连接的从句

三、过去进行时的构成

过去进行时的动词谓语部分有助动词be(was, were) 动词的ing形式（现在分词）构成。动词现在分词的构成遵从"一般、去e , 双写"六字（母）规则。见现在进行时部分。
