信息时代，每个人每天都要处理一大堆信息，“有什么事发信息给我”，“到家给我发信息”，英语怎么说你知道吗？

01、“发信息”不是send message

发信息老外直接说text sb.就是给某人留言

例句：

①I'll text you as soon as I get home.

我一到家就给你发信息。

②Text me when you arrive.

到了就给我发信息。

02、“送礼物”≠send a present

首先send的用法是没错的，send sb sth 或 send sth to sb

送某人某物，但是这个“送”和我们中文的“送”是有区别的

来看一个例子：他送了我一份礼物。

He sent me a present.✘

He gave me a present.✔

正确的表达应该是：give sb a present

因为send 所指的送其实是：寄送，传送，除非礼物是邮寄或由专人送去的，否则就不能用这个词，而give本身就有“赠送”的意思

03、“send”的其它常用表达

①send-off

送行

例句：

If he'd played in that match he would have got a great send-off and it all would have been fine.

如果他踢了那场比赛一切都会没事，我们会为他送别。

Before I went to travel, I had a big family send-off.

我出门旅游前，家人们都来送我。

②a big send-off

欢送会

例句：

But I could have handled it better, giving him a big send-off and taking pains to make it look like his idea.

但是我本来可以把事情处理得更好些，比如给他举行一个盛大的送别仪式，尽力地制造一种表象，好像离职是他自己的主意。

I had a wonderful big send-off before I left.

我离开前度过了一个盛大的欢送会。

③send chills up (one's) spine

毛骨悚然，背脊发冷

例：

His words sent a chill down her spine.

他的话让她脊背发凉。

Can we get out of here? This creepy old house is sending chills up my spine!

我们能不能走啊，这个老房子真的要把我吓尿了。

④send someone packing

打败某人，突然解雇某人

例：

I sent my enemy packing.

我打败了我的对手。

I couldn't stand him anymore, so I sent him packing.

我真的受不了他了，所以我把他开除了。

⑤send ahead for something

提前做好准备

例：

We sent ahead for room reservations at the hotel.

我们提前订好了酒店房间。

I will send ahead for a uber to meet us at the station.
我会提前叫一辆uber在车站等我们。

⑥send (a) mixed message(s)

发送不清晰，令人误解困惑的信息。

例：

My ex-girlfriend has accused me of sending mixed messages about our relationship, as if I'm trying to get back together with her.

我前女友说我给她发暧昧信息？说的好像我要和她复合哦！
