Rocket Girl vs. the Dinosaurs 1: Dinosaur Bones

凌晨，天还没亮。西街上开来一辆垃圾车。突然，几道电光照亮了天空。

喀嚓！喀嚓！

It was early in the morning and still dark outside. A garbage truck drove along West Street. Suddenly bolts of electricity lit up the sky.

Za-wap! Za-wap!

很快，天空又变黑了。

“太奇怪了。”一个清洁工说。

“是啊。” 另一个清洁工说，“不知道是什么……天哪！”

嗷！

A second later the sky was dark again.

"That was strange," said one garbageman.

"Yeah," said the other man. "I wonder what . . . Oh no!"

Roar!

“今天星期五，我太高兴了。”杰克说，“明天不用上学。”

罗西和朋友们正在向学校走。就要到来的周末让每个人都很兴奋。

"I'm so glad it's Friday," said Jack. "No school tomorrow!"

Roxy and her friends were walking to school. Everyone was excited about the weekend.

“我们明天去公园吧。”特勒说。

“好主意。”罗西说，“我们去那儿骑自行车吧。”

“我带飞盘。”杰克说，“我们可以抓飞盘玩儿。”

"We should go to the park tomorrow," said Terrell.

"Great idea," said Roxy. "Let's ride our bikes there."

"I'll bring a Frisbee," said Jack. "We can play Frisbee tag."

玛拉叹了一口气。“我倒是希望能跟你们一起去。”她说，“但是，爸妈已经计划好了。他们要带我去美罗城自然历史博物馆。”

Mara sighed. "I wish I could go with you," she said. "But my parents made plans already. They're taking me to the Metro City Natural History Museum."

“我喜欢那个博物馆。”特勒尔说，“那里有上古化石和洞穴壁画，还有恐龙骨头！”

“恐龙最酷了。”杰克说，“我最喜欢霸王龙了。”

"I love that museum," said Terrell. "It has ancient fossils and cave paintings. And lots of dinosaur bones!"

"Dinosaurs are awesome," said Jack. "My favorite is T. rex."

玛拉眼睛一亮。“对了！你们跟我一起去吧。”

“可以吗？”罗西说。

“当然。”玛拉说，“我爸妈不会介意的。”

Mara's eyes lit up. "Hey! Why don't you all come with me?"

"Really?" said Roxy.

"Sure," said Mara. "My parents won't mind."

罗西和朋友们都高兴地笑了。

“我等不及了！”杰克说，“我们说不定能看到霸王龙的骨架！”

“我希望我们能看到活的恐龙。”特勒尔说，“可惜它们都灭绝了。”

Roxy and her friends grinned.

"I can't wait!" said Jack. "Maybe we'll see a T. rex skeleton!"

"I wish we could see real live dinosaurs," said Terrell. "It's too bad they're extinct."

“你肯定能看到活的恐龙，特勒尔。”罗西说，“你只要发明一台时光机。”

“哈哈。”特勒尔假装大笑起来。

"You can see live dinosaurs, Terrell," said Roxy. "You just need to invent a time machine."

"Ha-ha." Terrell pretended to laugh.

然后，他变得很兴奋。“对了，火箭女孩儿说不定能帮我们做一台时光机！”

罗西大笑着摇了摇头。

“特勒尔，这不可能！我猜火箭女孩儿不会造时光机。”

But then he looked excited. "Hey! Maybe Rocket Girl could help us build a time machine!"

Roxy laughed and shook her head. "Terrell, that's impossible. I doubt Rocket Girl knows how to build a time machine."

特勒尔叹了一口气。“也许你是对的。”

就在这时，罗西的手表响了。

“噢！”她看着朋友们说，“我突然想起……嗯……我忘记带铅笔盒了。我们学校见！”

Terrell sighed. "You're probably right."

Just then Roxy's watch beeped.

"Oh!" she said, looking at her friends. "I just realized I . . . um . . . forgot my pencil box. I'll see you at school!"

“等一下！”特勒尔喊的时候，罗西已经离开了。“你可以借我的铅笔用！”

但是，罗西已经走远了。她走到一个角落，确认了周围没有人。

"Wait!" called Terrell as Roxy hurried away. "You can borrow one of my pencils!"

But Roxy was already gone. She went around the corner and made sure nobody was nearby.

She pressed a button on her watch. Mayor Bloom's face appeared on the screen. He looked nervous.

"Mayor Bloom, what's wrong?" asked Roxy.

"Metro City needs your help, Rocket Girl," said the mayor.

“恐龙在美罗城里到处走动！”

“恐龙不是已经灭绝了吗？”罗西不解地说。

“这些恐龙没有！”市长说，“现在，请你帮帮忙！”

“别担心，市长先生。”罗西说，“我马上就到！”

"Dinosaurs are roaming all over downtown Metro City!"

"But dinosaurs are extinct," said Roxy, confused.

"These dinosaurs aren't!" said the mayor. "Now please, help!"

"Don't worry, Mayor," said Roxy. "I'm on my way!"
