Live与stay的用法区别

Live和stay都是动词，用法比较简单，都表示驻留某地。

Live时长期驻留某地，可以时永久居民，而stay是短期的暂时居住。

Live: You have a home in a place you live (long time)

Stay: You are in a place for a while as a guest.

例如：I live in London.

I'm staying at the Crown Hotel.

你住在哪里？When I was younger I lived in Scotland, but now I am living in Germany.

我年轻时住在苏格兰，现在住在德国。

Where did you stay while you were at the conference?

Stay做动词

（1）Stay 做不及物动词表示在某种情况下住在某地，意为to spend some time in a place, in a situation, with a person or group。

He stayed in the army for ten years.

（2）保持某个状态to continue to be as specified, as to condition or state

You should stay clean at school.

你要在学校保持干净。

The important thing is to stay calm.

重要的是要保持冷静。

We all have to stay alert.

我们都有保持警觉。

（3）stay做及物动词有停下或阻止、限制的含义（to stop or halt， to hold back, detain, or restrain, as from going further）

Nothing could stay them, and soon their shouts of victory were heard above the roar of the battle.

He stayed his hand before striking the child.
