Chu bingchao, artist (sculpture and installation) of the year of Artcloud SAP (China), has his own poetic world and his own views on nature, society and art. Through his works, he finds a new way to interpret the relationship between nature and man. Seemingly grand projects are often the expression of the purest meaning. Artists find the meaning of "human nature" or "existence" in these works and processes.
I BUDDHA 2014
This work was searching and fixing the damaged Buddhism grottos which based on age, regional differences and shape. During the whole year working time, I fixed fifty statues of Buddhism grottos. Each statuesfized by myself, also merged my personal appearance, the comprehension of Buddhism statues and the feeling into my creation.
A few years ago I encountered several mountains in Gansu's Black Gobi ,full of various different shape and size of stones arounding the mountains , these huge numbers of stones scattered here, I think they must have rolled down from the mountain. Then again into the Black Gobi to find the mountain I had met, the stones that can be lifted down the mountain will be marked one by one, and transported stones back to the top.In order to record this performance, I named it Huan Shi Mountain.
360x103cm,2019Returning Stones to the Mountain, behavior art photograph, 360x103cm, 2019
LAND WITHOUT TRACE
This colorful Gobi 50 kilometers south of Returning Stones to the Mountain, where layer of gravel with iron composite covers the thick yellow sand. The scattering camel thorns and the rolling topography oxidize the colors on the Gobi. Gusts of wind pick up the sand and blow on people’s faces. Here, only the wind and I are mobile, which compelled me to do something here. I don’t think people have been here. Two large boulders might have been in one piece, and they stood quietly for hundreds and thousands of years. I pushed the boulders elsewhere with my body, where they left marks on the ground. The wind picks up the sand again.

“Night Fire” is an extension of “the Hill of Qifu” ,I used a mobile phone’s screen to light up the mountain. held the phone and walked step by step between the steep mountains. The photographer in the distance recorded the picture of each spot from mobile phone screen to illuminate the light points left behind until I climbed the whole mountain with full of steps. Eventually, I compressed tens of thousands’ photos of the walking footprints which stacked into a single photo and framed into a video. The video records and compresses the space and time of entire behavior of light up a mountain.

THE HILL OF QIFU
In late 2015, I went to this remote village Called Qifu Village, which is located in the KongtongMountain that is next to the Pingliangcity in Gansuprovince. In the north of the Qifu village, there was a natural collapsedslope, and by using my own aesthetic judgment, I have renovated, repaired, andmaintained the place to reach the peaceful environment I have pursued.
This work has taken us 150 days to complete, and we have reconstructed and fixed 5500 cubio meters of mountain, planted more than 7000 different kinds of plants, andrenamed this "man made', "sell-designed" mountain "The Hill of QiFu'. The first phase of the work has been already completed, and the second phase isstill under preparation. "The Hill of Qiru" is going to be a long term project of art. "Qifu's' land and the "mountain crater" that surrounds it are not there characterization of media, but the direct connection between the nature andour physical body. It's my way of obtaining the nature, and my way of expressmy unique artistic conception.
