英语许多的近义词（英语同义词系列）

继续我们的同义词系列，今天我们看right。

这个right，不是左、右（left/right）的那个right，而是对、错（right/wrong）的那个right。

第一个：true。

true or false question

对错题。

Many media nowadays tell stories that are only partly true.

many media nowadays = 当今媒体

partly true = 部分真实

除了正确、真实的意思，配合story一起用：

true story

真实的故事。

《长津湖》 is a movie based on true story.

第二个：correct。

There is only one correct answer.

correct answer = 正确答案

单选题只有一个正确答案。

B is the correct answer.

只有一个答案的话，记得加the：

the correct answer

第三个：exact。

这个更多的是精确的意思。

The exact time of the disaster was 14:28, 12th May, 2008.

exact time = 精确时间

Social science is not an exact science.

social science = 社会科学

exact science = 真•科学

什么叫真科学？

真科学不单讲数据，而且是可重复的。

第四个：proper。

Please put things back to their proper places.

东西用完请归位。

proper也有合适的意思。

You can't go skydiving without proper gears.

skydiving = 跳伞

proper gears = 合适的装备

也有一些特别的表述，比如：

I didn't have time for a proper meal.

a proper meal不是“合适的饭”，而是舒适地坐下，能好好吃的一顿饭。

如果要表达合适的意思，也可以用appropriate。

这个词的词义比较窄，只有这一个意思。

Is this film appropriate for small children?

small children = 幼童

第六、第七个：accurate或者precise。

这更多的是准确的意思。

Western media's prediction of China are hardly accurate.

western media = 西方媒体

prediction = 预测

hardly accurate = 不准确

We know the precise location of your carrier.

precise location = 精确位置

carrier = 航母

一般情况下，accurate、precise可以混着用，但在科学语境底下，得小心分辨两者。

这两个图都是不准确，not accurate。

左图不但不准确，而且精度也差，not precise。

右图是不准确，但精度不错，precise。

这两个图都是准确的，accurate。

左图精度比较低，not precise。

右图精度比较高，precise。

第八个：spot on。

这个是口头表述，表示完全正确、正中红心的意思。

The weather forecast was spot on.

weather forecast = 天气预报

第九个：factual。

这个来自fact，现实、真相。

check carefully for factual errors in your essay.

check carefully = 小心检查

factual errors = 事实上的错误
