“实锤”即确凿的证据，在英语中，有许多词可以与proof/ evidence搭配，表示确凿的证据，如：hard, solid, irrefutable, conclusive, undeniable, incontrovertible, reliable, clear等。

①hard evidence表示真凭实据、铁证

②solid有可靠的、可信赖的、坚实的意思，所以solid evidence表示可靠的证据。

③irrefutable /ˌɪrɪˈfjuːtəbl/表示that cannot be proved wrong and that must therefore be accepted无可辩驳的；不能否认的。

irrefutable evidence无法推翻的证据

④conclusive表示proving sth, and allowing no doubt or confusion结论性的；不容置疑的；确凿的

conclusive evidence/ proof/ results确凿的证据；不容置疑的结果

⑤undeniable表示true or certain; that cannot be denied不可否认的；确凿的

receipt是怎么衍生出“锤”的意思并成为网络热梗的呢？

这一切就要从已故天后惠特尼·休斯顿（Whitney Houston）2002年的一场电视采访说起。

当时，主持人提到有小报媒体指控休斯顿大量购买非法物品的事，一向slay的休斯顿女士这次也正常发挥了，她是这么回怼的：

“I want to see the receipts.”（小票给我看看。）

或者放在今天，我们可以直接翻成“锤呢？”。

这场采访过后，国外网友从这句“I want to see the receipts”引申出了一个表达“show me the receipts”。讨论这场采访时，津津乐道的国外网友会用到它；名人的八卦轶事难辨真假时，刨根问底的网友也会用到它；甚至在日常生活中，你需要表达“真的吗？我不信”时，你也可以用它。

拜天后所赐，receipt作为“实锤”的用法就这么火出圈了。

ironclad/ cast-iron proof/ evidence

“实锤或铁证”并不能直译为“iron evidence”。iron的意思是“熨斗；铁”，并没有坚实的，可靠的，确凿的意思。但是ironclad和cast-iron这两个词可以表示有力的、确实的、确定不移的，如：

ironclad guarantees of safe passage安全通行的绝对保障

a cast-iron guarantee/ promise永不反悔的保证；铁誓

a cast-iron excuse/ alibi有说服力的辩解；不在犯罪现场的确凿证据

所以，“实锤”可以表达为：ironclad/ cast-iron proof/ evidence。

smoking gun

smoking gun直译过来就是冒烟的枪，枪还在冒着烟，证明刚刚肯定有人开了枪，绝对“实锤”。这个词常指犯罪证据，还可以指科学证据。

柯林斯词典对somking gun的解释是：A smoking gun is a piece of evidence that proves that something is true or that someone is responsible for a crime.确凿的证据;确证证据

This memo could be the smoking gun that investigators have been looking for.

这份备忘录可能是调查人员一直在寻找的证据。

The search for other kinds of evidence tying him to trafficking has not produced a smoking gun.
